#3 – SG50 Baby

Yay! We are expecting another precious little one into our lives in about two weeks time! Double Ds has been very excited about their little baby brother and were literally counting down since January this year. As September arrives, we can tell how excited the kids are. Apparently just the other day Darian woke up and said in excitement, “mummy, it’s first of September already!” They are definitely all ready to welcome their little baby brother! 🙂

It’s such a joy watching double Ds stroking and talking to their didi(little brother) every now and then. Sometimes when baby D moves vigorously, they giggle and ask him not to kick so hard, not to hurt mummy. Awww they are simply so adorable! 🙂

Like the previous pregnancies, Papa Yap and the kids would accompany me for every checkup. The duo are always so eager to see their little brother through the scan. During the previous checkup, Dyann got so upset and teared when she didn’t get to see her little brother on the machine. She only stopped when Dr Ang handed  her the picture and that really made her so happy.

As usual I’m seeing Dr Lawrence Ang for this third pregnancy despite the traveling distance. I just don’t feel comfortable for a change of gynae. His current clinic which is just opposite Sun Plaza, is certainly much bigger than the previous one. At least I get a seat every visit during the wait. Haha 🙂

While Papa Yap and I were kind of anticipating Baby D to arrive at 37 weeks(both Darian and Dyann popped at 37 weeks), Dr Ang estimated that I probably will only deliver after Singapore polling day(11th Sept). Well well, we shall see again next Tuesday when I go for my weekly checkup.

This pregnancy has been taking a toll on me. I have constant fatigue, especially in my third trimester. The heavy and low bump, low energy level, bad mood swings, bad aches at my back and pain around pelvic area are certainly making child minding and household chores much more tedious. It was to the extent that I couldn’t even send Darian to school at times. And for the past few weekends, we have been staying home most of the time(other than short grocery trips) as I couldn’t stand and walk for long. I feel bad for neglecting the kiddos but we will try to fulfill our Zoo, River Safari, USS, swimming outings after Baby D pops and my confinement.

Thankfully at this point of time, I have my parents in law to help me since the start of my 37weeks as Papa Yap has been very busy with work and is currently supervising a one week fieldcamp. They fetched Darian to and fro school daily and my mother in law stayed over in case of emergency. At the same time, with them around I only have to cook once a day for the kids and for dinner we would get takeaways from the nearby coffeeshops. There were also nights when I even have to rope in my sister to help out when the hubs is not around. Nonetheless, the kids are happy to have their grandparents and yiyi in the house.

Now at 37 weeks and 3 days, I feel like a whale already. This is definitely my biggest and heaviest of all three pregnancies. I know I have to work extra hard to shed off all those unnecessary excess weight but this is something that I shouldn’t be too worry about right now. At this point of time, I only pray for an easy and smooth delivery. Baby D please be good to mummy ok? We will see you soon! We all love you so much! ❤️❤️❤️

The waiting game

Into my last lap of pregnancy. As for now, I am 36 weeks pregnant. Just had my check-up done on Monday and was delighted to hear from Dr Ang that our baby girl has turned her head down, my placenta moved up and I would be able to deliver the baby through natural birth. 🙂 Hooray! It’s such a relieved to know that. Dr Ang added that I am already 2cm dilated which means that I would be giving birth anytime from now. Wooo… It makes me nervous hearing that! Alright sweetheart baby, it’s a little too soon. Please stay in mummy for at least another one or two week. Anyway Dr Ang has given me some medicine to delay birth till at least next week. Anytime next week would be much better. Though this is my second pregnancy, it somehow seems like my first. Wahaha… In fact, I feel more nervous than the first. Perhaps it is because I already knew the expected process. It’s kind of scary. haha…  Anyway I pray for a smooth delivery. We are so so excited to seeing our little sweetheart! ❤

@34 Weeks ~ Coming soon

Yay! Coming soon 🙂

My oh my… I’m already at my 34 weeks pregnancy. My girl has been real active. Her kicks, punches and wriggles are getting so much stronger. There are times when she can really twist and squeeze that I felt awfully uncomfortable and painful too! Amazing though! 🙂 Right now, fatigue kicks in. I get tired so easily that I can’t wait to lie on my comfy bed in the afternoon. Before, I seldom catch a nap together with Darian as I always think that it is a waste of time napping and I wasn’t tired at all. I ought to be spending such quiet moment relaxing, surfing the net, watching TV, playing games and even finishing up some chores. Till now! haha… Oh seriously, can you even imagine my size right now given that even my maternity clothes are all getting tighter. Not that I’m being sensitive, my sister, her friends and my friends thought so too. Only Papa Yap would think that I still look good! Wahaha… His favourite phrase “You are not fat. You are pregnant.” 🙂 Anyway I’m not bothered by it as well. I’m enjoying this period! 🙂 I have been eating durians lately. People say during pregnancy your taste buds change and at times you would eat the most unexpected food! It’s true somehow.

Last Sunday, we met up with the confinement lady, Zhen Jie, at Woodlands Point. Well I had actually seen her twice at my friend’s place so was quite easy to spot her. And I guess she could easily spot me with my big bump as well! Hehe… First impression and conversation as her employer was pretty fine. Hopefully she would be as good as we expect her to be. If not a month of confinement can really kill! Anyway, she was recommended by our friend. Knowing my friend’s character, Zhen Jie should not be that bad too. 🙂

Okay we are in the last stage of preparation. Just last week, I’d set up and tested the steriliser. Luckily it is still working after a year. If not we would have to spend another hundred over bucks to get a replacement. I have already finished washing the last batch of baby’s new pretty clothing. And so we are left with setting up the baby cot, getting a mattress for the cot, preparing the breast pump, buying and borrowing some pots for confinement use, getting the kitchen stock up with the basic ingredients for confinement food and that’s about all… I guess for now. 😉

Seeing Dr Ang and baby in two weeks time! 🙂

@Week 32

Preggy at 32 weeks 🙂

Time flies! I’m already in my third trimester, 32 weeks pregnant. My edd would be on the 19th August. So it’s less than 2 months to go. Gosh… I’m getting real nervous! Had my checkup done today at Dr Ang’s clinic. As usual, it seems like I can easily put on 2 to 3Kg every month so I’m now 72Kg heavy! Hehe 😉 Baby is in breech position and growing well too. She is now 1.7Kg heavy. Currently our only concern is that my placenta is still low and baby head is above the placenta, I might have to deliver via caesarean. Really scared. However, there is still time for baby to turn and placenta to move up to further determine the delivery. So I shall talk to the baby everyday and then we will see how things progress in July. *Keeping fingers crossed* 🙂

Somehow I really felt so thankful to have Papa Yap accompanying me for all my check up appointments. I’m grateful enough! 🙂 Love you.

@24 weeks

Pregnancy at 24 weeks, my baby girl is estimated 675grams heavy and growing well. Dr Ang tried to do a 3D scan but my girl was not in a right position. We could only see a little of her lips, chin and nose. Hopefully at the next visit, we are able to get a full view of her face. As for me, I have put on like another 3kgs in a month. So I’m now already 66 kg!  Alright if this goes on before I pop,  I really couldn’t imagine how I would look like. Wahaha… I really felt rather clumsy at times. My clothes, my pregnancy pants, my bras are like so tight! Cant breathe in them. Hehe… Her kicks, punches, and squirms are like my essentials right now. Enjoying and loving all the little movements in me. 🙂 Whenever I tell Darian of baby’s kicks, he would get so excited and stroke my tummy. Loving brother, isn’t he? It’s like three more months to seeing our baby girl. We are getting so so excited! 🙂 Loves Loves

Having lots of craving lately… Many of these cravings seem to come out of nowhere, and they can feel overpowering. It’s such an indescribable feeling that out of a sudden you just feel like eating that specific food in mind. The next moment when you think about that particular food, your mouth begins to salivate, tummy starts to grumble and growl and you really feel extremely hungry as if you are desperately in need of food. Wahaha… Tell me how not to put on those unnecessary weights! 😉 I have been going around and even to places that I have never been before just to eat their specialties. Places like City Plaza for their Ban mian and Arnolds Chicken, Old Airport Rd for their LaoBan soya beancurd, Prawn mee, Fried Hokkien Prawn noodles and Lao Fu Zi Fried Kway Teow, Katong for Laksa and many more… Yummy! (Oops getting hungry again… haha)

In fact, the best thing about pregnancy is that people around you tend to be fulfilling all your food cravings. Haha 😉 I have been going back to my mom’s place for lunch and dinner, almost every Sunday. That’s the advantage of having a mother who can cook fairly well! The other day when I craved for the traditional glutinous ball soup, my aunt was so happy to prepare it for me. I seriously cannot recall having so many cravings when I was expecting Darian three years back. And so poor boy, Papa Yap, just bear with me for another 4 more months alright?! Hehe 😉

My first time seeing blue glutinous balls! haha.. Done by my cousins.

Blue or Pink

and it’s…… PINK!! haha 🙂

First set of clothings for my little princess. And of course more to come! Wahaha 😉

***2nd March***

At the 16th week, Dr Ang mentioned to us that very likely the baby would be a girl. However it would be more accurate to determine the gender during the detail scanning on the 30th March. And so we waited for that day to reconfirm. What a suspense! haha…

Finally after the ‘long’ wait, at the 20th week, it’s confirmed that baby would be a girl! We are glad to hear that and especially elated to know that baby is growing well too. How nice having a boy and a girl. Well balance just like in Chinese the word 好’ which means good is made up of two words 女(girl, woman, daughter ) and 子(child, son). Anway we are both fine with having a boy as well. What’s most important to us is actually the baby’s health. 🙂

Right now, in my 21st week, I have put on a good 7 kg! I am having enormous appetite. Even Papa Yap thinks so too. 😉 Somehow he seems very happy feeding me. Wahha… I seriously need a lot of food! Every night before, I would be planning my menu for the next day. Breakfast, lunch, teabreak, dinner and supper. Fat me! haha.. Whatever it is, I am truly happy to be fat for now. 😉

Papa the helper

As I’m getting heavier with frequent backaches, Papa Yap has been helping out with the more tedious house chores like washing the two bathrooms, vacuuming and mopping the house. Seriously he has been of a great help to me and I really appreciate it a lot. Right now, I’m thinking of getting a part time helper to cover up the chores for Papa Yap especially when he gets busier during the mid year. But that would also mean extra expenses. On top of that what if the helper’s cleaning standard doesn’t reach to my expectation or what if she is very slow with her work or… Gosh guess I think too much… Maybe I’m just not comfortable with having a helper around the house. Let’s see how it goes…

Anyway thank you Papa Yap! Love ya! 🙂

Hello baby

A wonderful and joyous news! 🙂

As for now I’m already three months pregnant. My EDD would be in mid August. The feeling is just so wonderful. 🙂 The thought of being a mummy for the second time is simply blissful. Papa Yap is equally happy too! Not to mention my family, aunts, uncles and cousins. 🙂 It came as an early Christmas present for both of us. 🙂 Little Darian is aware of the baby in me. We have been telling him about having a baby in mummy, asking him to say “good night” to baby, ”kissing” and stroking my tummy, bringing him along for checkups and showing him the ultra scans as well. He shows positive-ness towards having a sibling. Hopefully he will be loving brother. 🙂 I’m seeing the same gynecologist Dr Lawrence Ang, at Sembawang Plaza. His clinic is still as packed as before. Dr Ang is always busy and his consultation is usually very precise and fast. For us being precise and fast means that baby is growing well and everything is fine. Of course, when I have any enquiries or area of concerns he will definitely answer them all. But if you are those who like to have “chit-chat” session with the gynae, I don’t think he would be ideal for you. Despite Papa Yap’s busy work schedules, he is willing to take leave and accompany me for checkup. Thank you Papa Yap for your tender loving care. Love you ❤

Oh I was having morning sickness for the first 2 months. Hah, it was quite bad. Feeling nauseous every now and then (Not just morning but the whole day), puking each time after meal. I have to stocked up my fridge with candies, H2O, 100 Plus, ribena, milo  and biscuit crackers. Stayed at home most of the time, didn’t want to go out (even for shopping). Hah just imagine how bad it was… I didn’t experience this when I had Darian. It was not easy man. Thank god, as days passed by the frequency of my morning sickness gradually decreased. Finally at the 10 weeks, it stopped compeletely. Just in time for Chinese New Year. Haha… Luckily, it’s over. 🙂 This time round, we couldn’t engage the previous confinement lady, Feng Jie. She is such a popular confinement lady with lots of bookings; especially in this Dragon year. A popular year for parents who want to give birth to a dragon baby… Anyway we managed to find another confinement lady Zhen Jie, recommended by Joyce and TT. Hopefully she would be as good as Feng Jie or even better. 🙂

Though I’m ”ballooning” way much faster as compared to the first pregnancy, I’m happy at the same time. Haha! 🙂 It’s time to unpack the pregnancy clothing kept in the zip lock bags. I can’t wait for the next checkup in March to see my baby and to hear about his well being. At the same time, we might be able to know the gender of the baby. How exciting! 🙂

Hello baby! 🙂
