NYC Day 3

***13th March 14***

On day 3, there was a study trip from 8am to 2pm, solely for the guys. Hence the duo and I were on our own for the first half of the day until Papa Yap returns. I decided not to bring them out to the Toy R US as the weather was too cold. In fact the third day was the coldest and it was actually supposed to snow! There wasn’t any issue of food as Papa Yap had bought us some sandwiches and cakes before he left. Besides, I had also prepared some snacks for this NY trip too. So the kids spent their morning eating, snacking, creating havoc in the room. 😉

Day 3 is a suit up day! Papa Yap has to wear a suit with tie to attend the study trip. He hardly gets a chance to dress smart except for wedding banquets. Looking good eh! 🙂

Hi handsome! 🙂

The hubs returned around 2.30pm and was telling me how cold the weather was. I could really imagine that. We headed to a Chinese restaurant after Baby Dyann woke up from her nap. Basically our plan was to have an early dinner, walk down to Rockefeller Center then to FAO Schwarz. Despite the super cold weather, we proceeded with our plan as we really didn’t want to waste this day staying at the hotel doing nothing. The moment Darian stepped out of the hotel, he immediately asked to return back to the room. It was freezing cold outside. However the word ‘toy’ enticed him to stop his grumbles and agree to walk there.

Walking to the FAO from the hotel probably takes about 30 minutes. However, we took about 50 minutes because we stopped by the Rockefeller Center ice skate rink and the Lego Store on our way there. Darian was telling me how he wished to ice skate there. Like real only! Haha… Anyway the Rockefeller center is famous for the big Christmas tree during Christmas. Many of our friends drove to New York for Christmas and to see the tree while we went to Florida instead.

FAO Schwarz is the oldest toy store in United States. If you ever watch ‘the Smurfs’, it was featured in that chased scene which the Smurfs encounter Gargamel. The store is known for its unique high-end toys and life-sized stuff animals and dolls. It is also a popular tourist destination, and has gained iconic status for its floor piano and ‘toy soldier’ standing at the entrance of the store.

The kids had a delightful time looking and playing with the toys in the store. We were actually quite surprised that the store closed at 7pm. Well the kids still got to spend an hour in the store while Darian was mad happy that Papa Yap bought him a set of Angrybird toy! The next thing that crossed our mind was the walk back! Haha… On the route back to the hotel, we got supper from MacDonalds and revisit Disney store again to get a Minnie mouse soft toy for Baby Dyann. She was really ecstatic to receive the Minnie Mouse!

14th March was actually our wedding anniversary. Having to spend our anniversary in New York is definitely a cool one! Happy 16th my love! Thank you for everything. Love you deep deep okie. Haha 😉

15years of love

***14th March 13***

Happy 15th Anniversary! ❤

Today marks our 9 years of courtship, 6 years of marriage and counting on. Woots! It has been a really wonderous 15 years. We have gone through many phases of life together, enjoying happy life moments and also overcoming obstacles hand in hand. I must say it has not been an easy journey but we are able to overcome it with each other’s love and support. I really want to thank Papa Yap who is always there for me when I need him (even when I don’t… haha). He is my pillar of strength for sure. The man who neutralises my ‘negativeness’ and builds my confidence over the years. The man who understands me so well and reads me like an open book.  You have been a great husband and father to the kids. We are indeed blessed to have you in our life. I love you and the kids love you as well! Happy 15th and forward looking to the many more to come. ❤

This year, because of the kiddos, we are not able to celebrate our anniversary according to our initial plan. Hopefully our post anniversary celebration plan will be successful. *cross fingers*. And I love my anniversary pressie. Totally awesome! It comes in really fantastic especially for the second half of the year. (Oh yesss… it’s going to be an exciting year for us!) Will use it to capture our family happy times. Thank you my love! ❤

Managed to surprise Papa Yap with homemade macaroni cheese and mango pudding, especially made with plentiful of love, and a cake in the evening. Heehee 😉 It was my first time cooking the macaroni cheese and it turns out very well. Similar to Auntie Flora’s(Papa yap’s first helper) cooking. So happy to see Papa Yap totally enjoying the meal. The surprise dinner was a delightful success! It does not matter even we are not celebrating this occasion at any fanciful restaurant. What matter most is that we are truly happy to be spending quality time together. Contented and blissful enough. 🙂

with love always…❤❤

Celebrating the 14th

***14th March***

Happy 14th anniversary to my dearest Papa Yap!

We have spent more than a decade together; 9 years as couple and 5 years as husband and wife. 🙂 There were ups and downs throughout these 14 years. Yet these years have been indeed amazing. I would want to thank Papa Yap for all the years of tender loving care, everything that you have done for me and our darling son. Especially after giving birth to Darian and right now expecting the younger one. 🙂 I bet it’s definitely not easy handling my nonsense and expectations! 🙂 hehe…

And so with the help of my parents and aunt to babysit little Darian, we manage to have a ”just the two of us” moment for the night. 🙂 Celebrating our love at Melt Cafe at Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Hah finally a peaceful and enjoyable dinner with Papa Yap. 😉

A simple dinner affair is yet blissful. 🙂

To the world, you may be just one person. But to me, you are the world. With each year I’ll love you more. Remember that your best years are still ahead of you and I’ll be there for every up down and in between. Mama n Darian love you so so much! Muacks! ❤
